Review of Throne of Blood (1957) by Joel P — 14 Jun 2007
Throne of Blood is ice-cold. As Sheakspeare adaptations go, this film is top dog. From the classic Kurosawa fog that opens the picture, to the bitter end, this film had me hooked. Mifune shines as the paranoid 'Macbeth' character Washizu, while Yamada as 'lady Macbeth' is pure evil.
My favourite Kurosawa film ... just.
