While definitely not the best of Kurosawa, it is in my opinion the best of Toshiro Mifune and it is incredibly executed and Kurosawa's rendition of the "witches" is even more horrific than any european version I've seen and Mifune's wife is horrifically brilliant in this role.
Kurosawa's choice in female actors for their roles is amazing.
