Goddamn is this movie intense. And pretty. And cruel, and fatalisitc. Four stars just 'cause it was too heavy for me, and heavy without much introspection at that. I prefer the self-assured, cocky Mifune of Yojimbo and Sanjuro to this overclocked model, so easily manipulated by his wife and living with the Sword of Damocles swaying on a thread above him.
But, four stars also because it doesn't deserve any less.
