Kurosawa's adaptation of Macbeth is superb. Been saving this DVD for the right occasion and the other night me and a bottle of sake sat back and watched in awe Kurosawa's use of imagery, pacing and light.
He easily transfers Shakespeare's brilliant tragedy to the Japanese setting even staging some scenes in the traditional Noh theatre style. Kurosawa and Mifune - pure class.
