Review of Throne of Blood (1957) by Marco F — 09 Apr 2009
Another masterpiece made by Akira Kurosawa. His perfect eye for composition is put to use here, and the amazing symbolism used to tell the story and foreshadow certain events and the brutality of the human nature.
Also, the genius use of dust, smoke and fog to create a hellish and tepid setting. Toshiro Mifune's amazing performance is the highlight acting-wise. A masterpiece, in every sense of the word. The ending is also another highlight of this film, it is amazing in every way that it is horrific and brutal.
