This is a pretty freaky and pretty epic masterpiece from Kurosawa. The fantasy/paranoia/horror elements are quite stunning. The film's atmosphere and the tension it provides is harrowing. The performance from the lady is so creepy and Toshiro Mifune is brilliant as always.
The film slows down considerably in portions, but everything else is well worth it. See this; it will burn an imprint on your memory.
