Review of Three O'Clock High (1987) by Seth M — 25 Jul 2009
A lot has to be said for an 80s teen comedy that retains a good degree of its humor and tension even in the current golden age of comedy. Jerry exudes that Ferris Buller-like charm as he tries anything and everything to snake his way out of a fight with the surprisingly well portrayed bully Buddy. Good direction puts the audience in the boots of Jerry with frequent cuts to the literal ticking clock.
The biggest problem is that it feels aged. Comedy has just come so far in twenty years and there are plenty of gems out there that need to be discovered before a movie buff should make their way back to this film.
