Three Monkeys (2008) is a foreign drama film with a simple plot played out by decent actors showcasing a range of powerful emotions.
Ceylan does an excellent job of framing each and every scene taken in this film, making use of little moving shots with mostly still shots. The cinematography of this film is breathtaking, and awe-inspiring at times.
However, being a foreign film which is not your usual Hollywood-bang-bang-boom-boom kind of film, give this film a wide berth unless you know how to appreciate such films for what they are worth.
