Review of Three Kings (2011) by Orlok N — 28 Sep 2009
It's probably best defined as a "war" movie but there's so much going on here. It's action, comedy, heist movie and war movie with touches of satire and a strong anti-war sentiment.
David O. Russell nails the sheer audacity of the Gulf war on all sides. It was correct to think he was the next great American filmmaker after this came out, sadly he hasn't done anything in the same ballpark since.
The visual style and energy to this film is so frantic and pounding.
