Review of Three Kings (1999) by Ryan R — 24 Jun 2010
Three Kings is just as relevant today as it was a decade ago. It was especially crazy when they showed the oil covered pelicans (fuck you, BP!). And when they started talking about Michael Jackson on the anniversary of his death.
Scary relevant (fuck you, Dr. Conrad Murray!)...The cast is superb. George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg were excellent, as always. Ice Cube was good, and a fairly early Spike Jonze was great in his role.
I even enjoyed Jamie Kennedy. The story was very sincere and touching. I loved how it mixed humor with drama, and disturbing graphic violence with a purpose. This is an important, and deep film. A must see, if you're not a fan of George (Bush, that is).
Even if you do like George, you may still very much enjoy this movie.
