Review of Three Fugitives (1989) by James M — 29 Apr 2010
I've not seen the original French movie (Les Fugitifs) that this is based on and can't understand the mauling the critics gave it. I personally found it hilarious, especially the opening robbery scene.
Martin Short does his usual bumbling idiot and Nick Nolte plays the mean ol' disheveled bastard who beats him up a lot. I actually really liked Martin Short when this came out, off the back of Three Amigos and Innerspace, when he was quite funny.
It's unfortunate his stock descended post-80's when he starred in duds like Father Of The Bride & Santa Clause III: The Escape Clause.
