Review of Three Days of the Condor (1975) by Dylan L — 20 Nov 2007
I was blown away by this last night. Sydney Pollack is apparently some sort of action/thriller genius that's been overlooked for far too long. I always say that it took awhile for thrillers to really thrill in cinematic history, and this suggests that the late 60s through the 70s might have been the golden age for them.
Max Von Sydow is memorable as the Alsatian assassin, but I don't want to do the rest of the cast any injustice. Intelligent critique of the U.S. foreign policy of the time, and therefore very suiting for Redford.
I'd go so far as to call this the 70s equivalent of the Bourne Identity in terms of suspense.
