Review of Three Days of the Condor (1975) by Hunter D — 26 Dec 2009
Whereas Dante is "not even supposed to be here today" in CLERKS, Condor "just reads books" in 3 DAYS OF THE CONDOR, which is why its baffling to him that mailmen with machine guns are trying to pop a cap in his clueless ass.
Robert Redford plays a guy who reads a lot for the C.I.A. and one day returns from his lunch break to find that all of his co-workers have died from some sudden lead poisoning (in other words, they got shot up real good).
Suddenly he finds that he can't trust anyone and goes about his wits to find out who wants him dead and why. It's a pretty awesome accidental spy flick, and its probably the best Sydney Pollack film that I've seen.
