This film is one of the best films of the year. The acting was legendary. I liked that someone who is so rough around the edges like Mildred Hayes has such a kind heart and soul. Clearly, she was tortured inside by her daughter's demise however, she carried on the best that she could while fighting her battle and staying true to her vision.
she didn't have any prejudice against minorities and stood up for the african american plight of police abuse, she cared beautifully for the flowers that decorated the ground of the billboards and was very gentle with the visiting deer.
She came across as so brusque but inside there was extreme goodness. Mildred will use that beauty inside to make the world a better place even if it doesn't help her directly. I loved how officer Dixon changed because Officer Willoughby believed in him.
It was a great example of the deep power of kindness. This movie was definitely a stretch for me because of the violence and the disturbing theme. But, I made is through and I am glad that I did. It left an impression.
