Review of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) by Tj S — 22 Jan 2018
With all of the hype surrounding this movie at the end of 2017 I went into this film with high hopes. The movie kept my hopes high through the first half and then sorta let me down towards the end. I may be letting my personal views get in the way of this one, but I was not a fan of the way the movie ended in regards to Sam Rockwell's character.
In today's political climate I do not feel that the character was written into the story very well so that is what docks major points from my review which is a shame. The movie itself was enjoyable and I was having a good time watching Frances McDormand as the grieving with anger mother.
I felt that her character was portrayed very well and the same can be said for Woody and Sam Rockwell's performances, I believe I had more issue with the writing than I did Sam Rockwell's performance.
So I would say go watch this film, but I don't believe this is best picture worthy in my book...
