Review of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) by Patrick R — 14 Jan 2018
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a great, very dark comedy with a superb cast that made me laugh, cringe, and tear up all at the same time. Francis McDormand played a truly broken, angry character that mourns the death of a loved one, and the strength she put into her character really showed.
Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell also had some very funny, sometimes serious chemistry in the scenes that they were in together, and it was very entertaining to watch. Sam and Woody also performed wonderfully individually as well, and both of their characters really engaged me.
One scene I especially loved involved Francis McDormand's character and a beautiful dear, and I am not going to reveal why, but it was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. Three Billboards was a very emotionally moving and powerful movie with a storyline full of twists and turns along the way, and although I did enjoy I, Toyna slightly more, this movie was truly a great cinematic experience.
- 90%.
