Review of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) by Wael — 01 Jan 2018
"Three Billboards" is emotionally-packed, beautifully atmospheric, funny at some points, and very... calm for a movie that contains this much events and turns. It is led by a strong performance from the whole cast, and the characters are very well-developed: they're all broken, they're all looking for salvation in some way, which makes it very realistic.
The scenery is very evocative, the script is spectacularly written, and the picture on which relies the whole thing is simply marvelous. The result is one of the best films of the year: an excellent black comedy that balances so perfectly between the humor and the tragedy.
