Three Billboards is a showcase for powerhouse performances from McDormand, Rockwell, and Harrelson. I would say the odds are very much in favor for McDormand to score her second Oscar (Fargo). The cinematography is excellent, the score delivers emotion, and the writing is smart and witty.
But, aside from beauty of the film, the story fails to captivate you. Three Billboards is driven by its singular performances, but I want more. The purpose is clear, but what exactly is Three Billboards trying to say?
