Review of Thoroughbreds (2018) by Kevin P — 04 Jun 2018
Very Kubrickian, very Hitchcokian, very gooood. Love the pace and structure of how disturbingly unnerving this film descends toward the end while maintaining this dry, vile wit between Anya Taylor-Joy & Olivia Cooke.
They play off each other's roles in such an unpleasant, yet oddly quirky friendship that I could still empathize with both on some level. Hat's off to Anton Yelchin, too, for his final performance (rest in peace).
