Review of Thor: The Dark World (2013) by Danny O — 04 Aug 2015
Thor 2 is entertaining, but not great. It steps it up from the first Thor in terms of the action. The first Thor spent too much time wandering Earth, while here we get an epic quest through the realms to give it more of a fantasy/sci-if feel.
Tom Hiddleston's Loki is the greatest part about this movie, and his having to team up with Thor is amusing. He is unpredictable, charismatic, and quite funny. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the film's villain, who is so generic and underdeveloped, you'll instantly forget him.
The movie's plot is messy at times, and the humor is either hit or miss 9unfortunetly the comic relief from Kat Dennings Is just as awful). Luckily we get some more screen time for some side characters, even if some of them have no place in this film.
The movie has dozens of plot holes, and it's really goofy, but I can't deny I had lots of fun with it, and the action is really great. Thor: The Dark World gets 3/5 stars (B-).
