No amount of effort to make the action scenes zippy and inventive can cover up the complete lack of tension in the bad guy plot. Instead, the movie finds the justification for its existence in the character moments between Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and the ever-charismatic Tom Hiddleston.
