Eh. This is the worst MCU movie. I liked it on my first viewing, but repeated viewings have soured me on this movie. Loki is funny in the movie, but Malekith will forever go down as a prime example of Marvel's catalogue of bad villains (in the movies I mean, Malekith is great in the comics).
I would say it's skippable but you probably need to see this to understand Ragnarok, so I would advise people to power through this one.
