Review of Thor: Ragnarok (2017) by Micah M — 07 Jan 2018
More often than not, I find the Marvel Cinematic Universe is overrated. I think most of the characters are pretty stiff, and the run time is longer than necessary. As of late, however, Marvel has definitely exceeded my expectations.
In fact, I never thought I could enjoy a Thor movie. Somehow, Thor has gone from a boring, overly-serious god to a seemingly humanized, relateable, and funny guy. From time to time there is some forced humor, but overall it's pretty hilarious.
Not only was Thor's personality improved upon, but Loki and Bruce Banner's, as well. There's a lot of obvious exposition for Avengers: Infinity War, but the movie makes up for it with one of the coolest fight scenes I've ever seen; you'll know what I'm talking about.
Overall, I went in underestimating this movie, and came out excited for Thor's, Marvel's, and the Avenger's future.
