Review of Thor: Ragnarok (2017) by William B — 24 Feb 2018
Amongst the other MCU movies, this one is a clear step forward in plot and humor, but my issue with Marvel movies in general is still here: all of the tension is wasted. I have yet to see a MCU title that takes any significant risks.
Threats of death are hollow and meaningless if forty thousand sequels are set up. That being said, this film is very fitting of the comedy, wonder, and bad-assery that we come to expect of Thor post-Avengers.
This film is in a league far above either of its prequels, and even though the tension is lacking, I have to give props to the crew behind this movie.
