Review of Thor: Ragnarok (2017) by James S — 10 Apr 2018
Its a shame that it took them three tries to make a good Thor movie but director Taika Waititi hit it out of the park. This movie is simultaneously a love letter to 80s fantasy and sci-fi and a merger of the Planet Hulk and Ragnarok storylines from the comics. Hiddleston, Hemsworth, and Blanchett are all amazing in this and even hopkins in his limited role turns in a memorable final performance for Odin.
The only drawback is that the humor is a little over the top and can detract FROM the drama but otherwise this is a must watch for any comic book fan or any fan of 80s fantasy.
