Review of Thor: Ragnarok (2017) by Pyrate — 11 Nov 2017
Is it better than the other Thor movies? Yes. But that doesn't mean much, believe me. Taika Waititi leaves some of his signature comedic touch, but it's clear that he doesn't have too much creative control over the movie which is a shame.
At times Thor:Ragnarok seems a bit far-fetched and ridiculous. But,perhaps, my biggest problem with this movie is that it has a great tonal discrepancy. One side is filled with jokes and is light and the other part that is filled with death, destruction and it's supposed to be more serious.
The movie bounces between these two surprisingly amateurish. That being said it's a step in the right direction...for the Thor franchise, that is.
