Review of Thor: Ragnarok (2017) by Rory J — 26 Apr 2018
Thor: Ragnarok (2017) is daring, hilarious and wildly entertaining! After two underwhelming installments, Marvel Studios decides to reinvent the Thor franchise. Taika Waititi, an Indie film director with no prior experience with big-budget productions, seamlessly crafts a superhero film that is easily the best within the trilogy.
The humor is quirky and outlandish, but it works! It is the apparent self-awareness of the film that allows it to embrace its own absurdity. There are some unpolished VFX shots, especially noticeable green screens, but are easily outweighed by its vivid imageries and Mothersbaugh's space-warping soundtrack.
Great character interactions, highly-amusing performances, and kick-ass action sequences make Thor: Ragnarok worth the watch.
