Thor, despite its very exciting action, is a swing and a miss by Marvel. It makes for great entertainment, but the process just hadn't been fine tuned enough. The storyline has one (or ten) to many plot holes and Thor is just too one dimensional to be good yet.
The action, while entertaining, has a strong sense of "what?" and "why?" to it that it just can't shake. Go see Thor by all means but it is likely you won't see again.
