Epic, fantasy adventure elements intermingled with Shakespearian drama (it is directed by Kenneth Branagh after all) and some occasionally funny fish out of water scenarios, Thor is a fairly decent entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that benefits from the amazing visual effects used to create Asgard as well as Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleson's breakout performances.
