Review of Thor (2011) by I C — 17 Jul 2014
Chris Hemsworth stirs up an impressive chemistry with Natalie Portman, which is mostly what is carrying the story alongside Tom Hiddleston's flawless performance. While the visuals are excellent and Kenneth Branagh has a legendary sixth sense for casting, the plot is neither outstanding nor surprising.
The most amusing part of the film would be Thor's attempts to fit into the human world, but that novelty fades very quickly by the first half of the film. The character development of Lady Sif and the Warriors Three are disappointingly underwhelming, and the Ice Giants make for very boring villains.
Overall, this film is decent on the first watch but has very little replay value.
