Review of Thor (2011) by Moises Aaron M — 01 Aug 2017
Love the comical interaction between god and man. He's kind of a cocky, arrogant, and entitled jerk in the beginning but definitely changes in the end. Love the scene when all the locals get together trying wield the hammer. It's funny seeing him struggle trying to figure out living like a human, from walking through the middle of the road baffled by the honking cars to smashing mugs when he wants another drink. Hawkeye is introduced in this movie (completing the appearance of the whole team). Side note: Watching it with thunder and lighting going on outside really makes it better haha. It got kind of emotional during certain parts, such as when he can't lift the hammer and how degrading he feels as a mortal. Great casting job. Chris Hemsworth was born to play Thor and let's be honest, only Natalie Portman would be worthy to date a god because she's a goddess herself. The movie, however, almost got to the point to where the romance got in the way in the end but pulled out just in time. The end scene is what made this movie the difference between 3 1/2 stars to 4.
The end scene consists of Dr. Selvig meeting with Nick Fury in a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility showing him a source of unlimited and untold power, an invisible Loki (who was thought to be dead) controls Selvig's mind to agree to study it.
Stan Lee plays a guy who uses his truck to try and get the hammer out of the rock.
