Review of This Property Is Condemned (1966) by James G — 12 May 2011
Did you know Natalie Wood was this gorgeous? good gracious this film makes her look good--both physically and as an actress. I thought Redford's character was a little bland in contrast, but he still acted it well.
Pollack, Coppola and company do a terrific job adapting a one act play to the silver screen. this is quintessential Tennessee Williams--setting, characters, conflicts--everything was tailor-made for his style of storytelling.
the ending's a bit vague and depressing, but I actually like having to fill in my own blanks with this one. overall a solid, enjoyable, and very over-looked film.
