Review of This Must Be the Place (2011) by Elizabeth M — 13 Feb 2013
Ill-disciplined, episodic and rambling road movie that tries the patience as much as it rewards with occasionally fantastic moments. Sean Penn marvels and irritates in almost equal measure and his chemistry with Frances McDormand is genuinely superb.
The music soundtrack is the biggest draw though, rather than the moments of surreal humour which grate as often as they entertain. A mixed bag, but worth a watch.
