Review of This Means War (2012) by Richard V — 02 Aug 2013
I guess there's no such thing as bros over hoes here. Tom Hardy (who saves this movie) and Chris Pine (who phones it in with a character that has a TERRIBLE name) are dreamy looking, but play childish spies who -despite having brotherly bonds and happen to be CIA partners - decide to fight over a girl.
And it's a bit ridiculous that one of them is charming and the other is a douche, yet the woman in question - Reese Witherspoon - falls for them both. The spies also squander CIA resources as a German hitman seeks revenge on them and sneaks into the United States.
It's actually kinda maddening how these characters place their priorities, but for an hour and half of your time that you want your brain to turn off and enjoy silly humor and decent action, here's your movie.
Otherwise, don't bother. Oh, and brace yourself: The ending isn't that great, at least for me. Then again, the outcome wasn't so bad. They kinda deserved each other anyways.
