Review of This Means War (2012) by Durell B — 30 Aug 2012
Very basic, very average. Calling this a decent movie is stretching it. Two guys from the CIA willing to put friendship and national security at risk for the likings of a girl is so far-fetched its almost irritating.
McG, director of this film and the Charlie's Angels movies really can not hit the right stride with action or comedy. Every scene, in every McG film must have a nostalgic musical number or hip bebop sound.
TMW gets better and surprisingly funny toward the end but by that point its unfortunately reached the one hour mark. If it were not for Chelsea Handler who plays best friend to Witherspoon and who gets all the best material, this would have been just barely bearable.
However, with her, its a satisfactory watch.
