Review of This Is Where I Leave You (2014) by Paul K — 10 Jan 2015
I see that most reviewers have described this as a dramedy. It has a good cast and some interesting insights into 21st century American Middle West middle class sensibilities. We had a pleasant if anodyne evening watching it.
There is a genre of films based on the family reunion, where adult children are gathered perforce in their parents' house. This follows and updates the formula. Not one to make millions at the box office I'm afraid.
Jason Bateman is not an actor I've been aware of, but he works well here - and Jane Fonda is worth a watch.
