Review of This Is Where I Leave You (2014) by Michael W — 14 Dec 2015
Starts off well, there were a few laughs, but then it quickly devolved into your typical "Look at how wacky this dysfunctional family is! Sex jokes!". It also can't go five minutes without shoving forced sentiment down your throat, or having some character break down in tears while a soft piano bed plays underneath, which really is the worst thing ever in movies for me.
It's a shame that such a good cast (Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Adam Driver) are given such safe and standard material to work with when they are capable of so much more.
