Review of This Is Where I Leave You (2014) by Opinionatedguy — 19 Jun 2015
While it’s not an emotional experience from the book as it lacked more context from the source material, This is Where I Leave You is a solid family dramedy movie with a great cast despite looking a bit more Hollywood than a Jewish cast.
Rating: 8/10.
Pros:
+It’s a solid family dramedy movie. There were a couple of moments in the movie that I could relate in real life.
+There are also a couple of moments that made me laugh out loud as well.
Neutral:
.The cast are great but I do feel like it looked a bit more of Hollywood than a Jewish cast.
Cons:
-This is Where I Leave You is one of my favorite books. While it is a solid movie, it’s not a great adaptation. There were a couple of scenes in the movie that needed more context from the book in order for the viewers to understand more about what’s going on.
