Review of This Is the End (2013) by Rodney V — 09 Apr 2016

This Is the End isn't just a hilarious comedy but its actually a very clever type of comedy as well. The reason why this film is clever is because the idea that everyone plays themselves and how the film mixes the elements of comedy and horror together.

The film revolves around all these actors at a house party hosted by James Franco and they end up being stranded in the house due to an apocalypse. All the actors do a great job as portraying themselves but my favorite character in the film is James Franco, he totally stole the show in this film. Jonah Hills character is the one character in this film that I didn't like, though he's usually a great actor in general he wasn't that good in this film, however his character is pretty much the only flaw in the film.

Though This Is the End is a great film its not Seth Rogens best film, in fact compared to films such as Neighbors, and Pineapple Express this film isn't as funny. Also This Is the End is not a film for everybody the film has offensive humor which is expected in a Seth Rogen movie but the film also is violent and though its played to be comedic you might not like that whole idea because the violence is sort of frequent and if you ask me its sort of shocking even for a Seth Rogen movie. However if your fine with offensive humor and violence than I highly recommend to get together with your friends and give This Is the End a try because you will not be disappointed.
