Review of This Is Spinal Tap (1984) by Fractured S — 03 May 2012
Hot damn this film is good. Rob Reiner directs this pioneer of mock documentaries, following the fictional rock band 'Spinal Tap' as they embark on a fateful tour. The jokes are genius, and the casual acting style makes it seem all the more believable, some audiences actually believing it to be a genuine documentary upon its release.
There's not a great deal to it, it's just a pitch perfect comedy, and I try to be open minded about films, appreciate that not every movie should be a deep work of art. This film really helps you learn to love a film for what it is, as despite the fact that it's a regular comedy without a whole lot of substance, I still adore it.
Great movie, I think you should see it.
