Review of This Is Spinal Tap (1984) by Metal J — 25 Sep 2010
To tell all of you guys a little about myself, if there's one thing I enjoy more than Video Games and movies is music. And more precisely, Hard rock/Heavy metal. I was actually "christened" Metal Josh by my friends at the local record store.
So to know that there is Mocumentary/Rockumentary about fake heavy metal rock gods, it was a no brainer for me to see this.
To start my review I'll note that the style of this film was just like watching an actual documentary, with one-on-one interviews with the band members and manager, etc., archive footage old music videos and concert footage.
What makes this such a funny movie is how the band thinks they are more famous than they actually are. Also the songs, although well written, are quite funny and clever. And there are several conversations that, if you can pay attention because of the British accents, will crack you up.
Overall 'This Is Spinal Tap' is a funny and entertaining movie with all the things that we all like to laugh at and poke fun about rock n roll. So turn it up to eleven.
And, unlike the review of 'Shark Sandwich', this is not a "$#@t Sandwich".
