This film does a wonderful job of making the viewer understand why the young Shaun is so drawn to joining a 'gang.' It is something sorely lacking in so many coming of age American movies now-a-days.
Stephen Graham also gives the best performance of the year as the as the conflicted and tormented gang leader.
