Review of This Is England (2007) by Simon H — 24 Sep 2010
A very sensitive, hard coming-of-age film, that deals with the 80's troubled youth of England, focusing on the skinhead subculture. Thomas Turgoose is brilliant in his part, and the movie, though slow paced, analyses and observes the skinhead culture, with all the hate and extreme nationalism it implies.
Brutally honest, humane, complex, and yet, so relevant for these uncertain times.
