Review of This Is England (1941) by Bill B — 03 Jan 2009
I'm of two minds on this film. Psychologically it seems to have a good take on why someone would join a gang (the skinheads on this case). It's take on how that mindset can lead to joining the racist fringe of the skinhead subculture didn't quite resonate with me.
Turgoose did a fine job but I just don't see his 12-year-old character as being old enough to be adopted buy the group in this case.
