Review of This Is England (1941) by Steve G — 24 Nov 2008
Fantastically thought provoking, this a gritty and down to earth look at a group of very different people all searching for their own identity in a very flawed 'Thatcherette' England. People struggling to come terms with their own personal tragedies in a world full of them.
This film had my heart racing is some scenes and almost stopped it in some. Watch when in a contemplative mood and discuss it with friends afterwards, it might be interesting to see what their perspectives on this political/personal drama are.
