Review of This Is England (1941) by John M — 04 Oct 2010
I never expected that much when goint to see this. A surprise masterpiece of those dark times in the early 80's. A tense and unbiased account of the skinhead culture, which never lets up and amazing performances by the kid and his mentor, who is like a ticking timebomb throughout! Excellent dramatisation told with emotional depth, not to mention the cinematography and choice of locations which show a decaying existence these youths live among.
Fantastic stuff!
