Review of This Is 40 (2012) by Andrew K — 04 Dec 2013
Apatow revisits the life of Pete and Debbie after the events in knocked up. As a statement on aging and its impact it's not quite as effective as the makers would have liked but as a comedy about family life there is a lot of fun to be had.
Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann are pro's at this type of comedy now and it's very easy to settle back and just be in their company. Iris and Maude Apatow as the kids are also very watchable as the kids. If you are not a fan of Apatow and his take on comedy, this will not create a new fan out of you however.
Personally, I really enjoy what Apatow and his gang do and as such I found a lot to like here...
