Review of This Happy Breed (1944) by Geraint O — 05 Jun 2011
Not as patronising as the title may suggest another classic piece by Noel Coward ably transferred from the stage by David Lean. Superb performances by Celia Johnson and Robert Newton baked up by the good stalwarts John Mills, Stanley Holloway and pretty Kay Walsh as the social climbing Freda.
Excellent snapshot of between- the- wars lower middle class life.
