What do you mean you've never heard of this movie? You've probably seen it as either The Day of the Jackal (1973) or The Jackal (1997). This is the original. I also think it is better, too, for it's pairing of Ladd and Lake.

Also, keep a look out for Robert Preston (The Music Man - 1962, Victor Victoria - 1982, Last Starfighter - 1984).
