Review of This Gun for Hire (1942) by Timothy F — 24 Aug 2009
One of the suspense noirs, adapted from a Graham Greene novel. Alan Ladd stars as a professional killer in pursuit of a double-crossing client played by Laird Cregar, and Veronica Lake stars as a nightclub magician who works for Cregar and is spying on him for the U.
S. government which suspects him of selling army secrets to the Japanese Exceptional acting by both Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake, and a great plot.
